ABOUT US

People. Atmosphere. Coffee.

WELCOME

Hello, thank you for your interest in us. To say a little bit about ourselves, we are an independent, neighborhood coffeehouse that operates in the historic State-Thomas district of Uptown Dallas. We hope that you will come visit and give us a chance to make you something delicious.

ORIGINS

Crooked Tree Coffeehouse is a dream realized by our owners Kristyn Bartley and Sarah Momary. Having backgrounds at indie shops, they desire to create a place that enriches the lives of people.

OUR MISSION

  • PEOPLE

We aim to be a great place to visit. At Crooked Tree, we hope that our customer experience is both inviting and quality-driven. We hope to always employ friendly people who can share positivity and sincerity with our customers, as well as making a beautiful tasting cup of coffee. We hope that you feel at home and well taken care of when you come to visit us.

  • ATMOSPHERE

Our atmosphere stands out, as it is eclectic and comfortable. Sometimes we like to say that we have a living room feel. In addition to our warmly colored walls, we have a variety of seating from couches, to tables both big and small, to a back patio, or, should you choose to have your drink more quickly over a brief chat, we have a standing bar at our espresso machine.

  • PRODUCT

We think consistently making quality beverages and food is a part of good hospitality.

We are passionate about economic responsibility from the farm to the customer. Most of our coffee is locally roasted by Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters, where they buy directly from farmers to ensure quality of taste and economic responsibility. We believe in doing business based on good personal relationships and we are lucky to have them in town.

On our end of the coffee story, we are committed to brewing and training standards that facilitate the best tasting coffee possible. We think this is best accomplished by staying true to the teaching and brewing standards of the Specialty Coffee Association of America. We encourage our employees to pursue and maintain certifications with them. We also sell amazing loose leaf teas from a local company called Zakti. They are as passionate about quality and purity with tea as we are with coffee.

Regarding food, our pastries come from local bakeries, such as Empire and Zenzero, and our sandwich menu is made of delightful, house recipes.
